I am the luckiest gal, to get the best and most adventurous clients. When Mayan approached me about photographing her wedding in 2017, I was ecstatic. When she then tentatively asked me if I’d be up for traveling to Trillium Lake where Derek actually proposed to her last winter, I reacted with even more enthusiasm than I think she was expecting.
“I’m sorry…did you say you want to take your engagement photos against the gorgeous backdrop that is Mt. Hood? And you’re up for actually hiking some of it? AND you want to include your dog in the shoot? Ummm….YES!”
And the icing on the cake: Mayan is an avid reader, to put it lightly. Really, she’s a full-on bookworm, which makes her a girl after my own heart. She came prepared with just one idea for her engagement photos, and that involved a woodsy scene with bare feet, books, and love. Some of my favorite engagement shots resulted (you’ll know them when you see them).
Needless to say, we had a wonderful time, and I’m so excited for these photos. I simply can’t wait to see what’s in store for Mayan and Derek’s wedding next year, and I’m honored that they’ve chosen me to document these important moments in their new life together.
P.S. Because I know the dog-lovers out there will wonder: their dog’s name is Koda, and she was such a perfect little model!
P.P.S. No books were harmed in the making of these images.
